A large number of teens have no place to call home; some girls are literally sleeping on park benches. Forced to leave their homes because of neglect or abuse, or having run away because of values that conflict with their home, these youths have no place to go but the street where they are embraced by a very destructive culture.

Established to fill this tremendous gap in our community, Imeinu's Rachel's Place shelter is a 9 bed Transitional Independent Living Program (TILP) for females between the ages of 16 and 21 with the primary objective of helping adolescent girls gain the skill and courage that it takes to make the changes in their lives that will guarantee them a brighter future. The program services 12 to 20 girls a year in a residential capacity and 45 youths in a non-residential capacity (referral, case management etc.)

Open to all, Imeinu's Rachel's Place shelter provides a comfortable setting so that runaway or homeless teens who are culturally uncomfortable in other shelters and will not avail themselves of their services will find safe haven and appropriate youth development programming.

Rachel's Place Charitable Trust was established to provide housing necessary for programs such as Rachel's Place shelter, for all marketing collateral and to help subsidize selective tuition and counseling costs.
