In 2006, a group of concerned women became aware of young girls on the street with no place to call home.

They intuitively understood that life saving measures were necessary. Esther Feiner, Esta Goldman, Faigy Horowitz, Shoshana Lefkowitz, Idy Pearlstein, Esti Scharf, Tova Schonkopf, Chaya Teitelbaum and Henna White assumed responsibility for our community's homeless teens. They identified their needs and founded Imeinu's Rachel's Place, a residence for runaway and homeless teens in response. These dedicated women undertook to provide these girls with an anchor of stability, a sense of belonging, and the necessary skills to move on in life towards a more viable future.
